1 tsp | Seasoned meat tenderizer |
¼ tsp | Celery salt |
¼ tsp | Seasoned salt |
¼ tsp | Garlic salt |
2 Tbsp | Liquid smoke |
1 Tbsp | Worcestershire sauce |
½ cup | Water |
1 cup | Prepared BBQ sauce, plus additional for serving |
1. Combine the seasoned meat tenderizer (1 tsp), celery salt (¼ tsp), seasoned salt (¼ tsp), and garlic salt (¼ tsp) in a small bowl . |
2. Rub the spices into the beef brisket (3 lbs) with your hands. |
3. Put the seasoned brisket in a large zipper bag. |
4. Add the liquid smoke (2 Tbsp) to the bag. |
5. Add the Worcestershire sauce (1 Tbsp) to the bag. |
6. Seal the bag and put it in the refrigerator to marinate overnight. |

8. Add the BBQ sauce (1 cup) to the instant pot. |
9. Add the marinated brisket and any juices from the zipper bag to the pot and ensure the side with the fat is on top. |
10. Select high pressure on your cooker and set the timer for 60 minutes. |
11. When the timer beeps, turn off the pressure cooker. |
12. Let the pressure release naturally for 15 minutes. |
13. Quick release any remaining pressure. |
14. When the valve drops, carefully remove the lid. |
15. Carefully transfer the meat from the pressure cooker to a large platter. |
16. Slice the meat across the grain. |
17. Serve the meat with the cooking liquid from the pot and additional BBQ sauce. |
